Night before departure February 21st Palo Alto

As I leave on my journey tomorrow, after a rich weekend of teaching and witnessing the amazing work being done by women in our Women's Spirituality MA program at ITP, I'm tired but deeply gratified. Having the farewell dinner with my husband Ed and Judy and Kris, gathering my passport, making sure my credit card company knows I'm in India (did you know that there is a 3% surcharge just for being out of the country-makes no sense but another sign of outrageous corporate greed) finding my Indian rupees- all these small details convince me I'm really going to leave. The final call to Jaime, Laura and Simon. Tomorrow and the next day (I never can remember if I'm losing a day or gaining it since I'm going over the pole and then through Dubai to Thiruvananthapuram ) a 23 hour flight on Emirites Airline. And then I'll be there.
